Logotype Sketching and Vectorizing

Logotype sketching. Logotypes can be designed digitally using Adobe Illustrator and Procreate. The latter design software became famous lately for digital art and other graphic work too including Handlettering. Personally, I always sketch ideas before attempting to digitize and vectorize. Rarely do I open the software and start designing unless I’m working with textures and backgrounds. There is an exception sometimes to when I’m designing patterns though. I’ve been designing digital patterns for more than 10 years so I can visualize fast the final result.

Below is the logotype sketching using colored pencil for the word ’logotype’. That is the process before digitizing it.

Below is the vectorized version of the same ’logotype’ design using Adobe Illustrator. I work faster with Laptops and desktops, so I decided to do that for this logotype design. If you feel more comfortable using iPad, please do so.
