Japanese Typography and Store Signs

Japanese Typography signs.

Just like English, Arabic, and other languages, Japanese writings have different forms. There is cursive Japanese, classic, comic and more. You can see them clearly in packaging, prints, and shop signs. I personally love watching them! And I thought it’s interesting to share sample designs with you aside from Arabic and English.

During me and my family’s visits to Japan, I was able to capture so many photos of shop signs, and packaging. What I immediately noticed is their use of colors. Yet, you find them acceptable and matching. Their visuals are eye-catching and sometimes they use too bright colors. That’s what makes their visuals unique. I get inspired by them alot.

Japanese typography and lettering can be seen across the country. To me, the store signs and prints are great examples to give you an idea about Japanese typography. There are wooden carved signs with rustic and vintage feeling to them. And there are other styles too like neon signs.
