Color Palette #2: Pink Shades

Beautiful Color Palette of Pink Shades

Written by: Anwaar S. AlAsousi

Sometimes, we designers are stuck in what colors to choose for our next project. The more options you have, the more probability there is you’ll use any of those colors. That’s why I posted previously a short post on a color palette you can read it here.

This post is the second where I’m sharing a color palette of pink shades.

There are easy ways to create your own color palette. You can check out Pantone’s website for more information on colors and color palette if you’re interested: https://www.pantone.com.

The above image is a pattern that I designed and recolored using Adobe Photoshop. It’s fun to use the ‘Hue/Saturation’ tool in Adobe Photoshop to explore the many color options you have. So this is one way you can do it. If you have an illustration or a design you created, try recoloring it on a new document and explore the different colors that you see.

Within the ‘Hue/Saturation’ tool, there is an option called ‘Colorize’. If you tick it, your illustration or design will be fully colored using shades of one color only.

This is not the only tool you can use but I can elaborate on this in a future post because it’ll be a long post with photos and explanations.

Aside from your designs, you can create beautiful color palettes using photographs you take. Use the ‘Eye dropper’ tool in Photoshop and explore the colors that you encounter. Create boxes and align them next to each other to see how they match or mismatch.
