Geometric Pattern range from circles, squares, and lines. For centuries Geometry and geometric art has been used for architecture and all. Even for decorations they were used as guides for more precision. Nowadays, geometric shapes are heavily used to design patterns, and guidelines to create visual designs.
Classic Geometric Patterns
Classic or traditionally drawn and painted geometric patterns have their own complexity. I studied a little about Islamic Patterns, which uses basic tools but the steps it take to design a pattern are a lot more. The result is always fascinating an impressive though!
Digital Geometric Patterns
Geometric pattern design can be as simple as using basic shapes like lines, circle, and squares. They’re the base to creating many more designs. Also, you can design the classic/traditional geometric patterns digitally too.
What do we mean by geometric shapes?
Lines, circles, squares, triangles … etc. So many geometric pattern starts with simple circles for instance, until designing complex ones. When thinking about it, those are basic shapes that we all learn to draw as kids. But there is a lot of creativity involved in using them to design and for branding and identity designs too!
